Upcoming Workshops
Sunday 9th September 2018 – “Working with a Partner”
10am – 12pm
£20.00 per person (payable in advance to secure your space)
Description – Every now & again in life we need a little helping hand from someone & this 2-hour workshop is to show that working with a partner in yoga can be of massive benefit.
We will work with a partner to help deepen your poses and assist with your alignment.
(you don’t have to bring your own partner with you!)
In the first part of the workshop we’ll go through sun salutations, standing & seated poses and with the help of a partner they with assist you with grounding, strength & flexibility. You’ll be partnered with someone of similar height as this helps if you are the person supporting the pose. Not only will you be encouraged to watch your partners alignment during their poses, but pointers will also be given so that you are keeping your posture safe.
In the second part of the workshop we’ll focus on relaxation and some basic Thai massage techniques, which also helps with joint mobility and flexibility.
We’ll end the workshop with chai & a chat discussing any questions or suggestions you would like for future workshops / classes.
As always, all you need to bring with you is a mat and your enthusiasm.
Booking is essential as numbers are limited.
Book via email, on line contact form or give me a call.
Sunday 20th May 2018 – Improving & Adapting your Poses
10am – 12pm – FULLY BOOKED (please email to go onto the waitlist)
£20.00 per person (payable in advance to secure your space)
Description – If you have been doing yoga for a little while, you know what the poses look like and where your arm, leg, foot should be – but nobody’s body is identical, so why do you think that all of your poses should look the same as the glossy magazine pictures or even the person who puts down their mat next to yours in class?
In this workshop we’ll go back to the basics, learning to listen to your own body, what feels good and adjusting the pose where needed. Building on your existing ability and fine tuning to create extra depth and strength.
All you need to bring with you is a mat and your enthusiasm.
As with all of the workshops we’ll start with some Pranayama to centre ourselves and “let go” of the outside World and end with an extended Savasana, with a cheeky Chai break in the middle.
Booking is essential as numbers are limited.
Book via email, on line contact form or give me a call.
Sunday 17th June 2018 – “Creating your own Flow”
10am – 12pm – FULLY BOOKED (please email to go onto the waitlist)
£20.00 per person (payable in advance to secure your space)
Description – This 2 hour workshop will focus on creating your own yoga sequence / series of poses for home or holiday practice.
We all know what it’s like when your yoga teacher goes on holiday and you have 2 or so weeks without attending your regular class. The most common reason I hear for not doing anything during that time is “I wasn’t sure what poses to do, even though I come to class every week its different at home”.
This workshop is all about linking poses together, finding out what would flow intelligently and safely.
As there are no set sequences in Vinyasa Flow, there is no real right or wrong, its all about getting onto your mat, moving and seeing what works and what doesn’t. We’ll choose one topic at the beginning of the workshop (eg. hip opening, core strength, back bends etc.) as a starting point and with everyones input put a sequence together. This will also give you a basic understanding of what you will need to “warm up” prior to working towards your final sequence and what to release / stretch afterwards. After, our chai break we will run though the entire sequence to see how it finally feels all linked together.
As always , all you need to bring with you is a mat and your enthusiasm.
Booking is essential as numbers are limited.
